Sometimes people post hacks online to help with our daily lives. They can be cleaning hacks, cooking hacks ect. However, not every hack will work or is a good idea.
Recently a new story came out that suggested pouring a cup of coffee into your washer rinse cycle with a load of darks would help keep the colors looking great and help them from fading.
Laura Goodman a laundry expert and senior scientist with Procter & Gamble warn that adding coffee to your washer could do more harm than good. That it won’t necessarily keep them from fading. That if you have a high-efficiency washing machine adding coffee could actually stain your clothes.
The best way to keep your darks looking great is to do the following:
Use a high quality detergent that contains “chlorine scavengers”
Add a fabric conditioner to the wash to protect them
