Bachelor Listen To Your Heart Recap For 4/27/20

By Kim Carr Apr 28, 2020 | 1:00 PM
We are at the halfway point of “The Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart” last night Chris Harrison gave the contestants the new rules moving forward. That the remaining seven pairs have to decide whether they’re serious about moving forward… if not, it’s their last song. As things started last night here is who was still left in the house.
  • Matt and Rudi
  • Danny and Bekah
  • Brandon and Savannah
  • Ryan and Natascha
  • Chris and Bri
  • Trevor and Jamie
  • Sheridan and Julia
  • Ruby and Gabe
This week was the start of each duo having to compete in front of celebrity judges from here on out, and couple will get eliminated until one left. You may think that LOVE is the big prize at the end, well that is just one of them. The winners will also be offered a chance to write,  record, produce and tour their music.
Last night
Gabe and Ruby ended up going home after she friend-zoned him, and Brandon asked Savannah locked in after he apologized for pursuing Julia… which Julia was not thrilled about. Meanwhile, other couples were making love connections. Ryan and Natascha got a date card, and so did Bekah and Danny… until she pushed him away when he tried to make a move too early.
Natascha and Ryan went to see country music singer Chris Lane on their date, linking up with the singer and his wife Lauren Bushnell (who used to be engaged to “Bachelor” Ben Higgins, FYI!) beforehand. The night turned into a double date with Chris and Lauren invited Ryan and Natascha on stage to sing “Big, Big Plans.”
Back at the mansion, the couples were preparing for their big performances. The celebrity judges? Kesha, Jason Mraz and former “Bachelorette” couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers. The judges based their scores on the couples’ musical ability, as well as their chemistry. It is a dating show, after all.
Matt and Rudi were up first, singing “Fallin All In You” by Shawn Mendes. The general impression was that they’re both great singers, but needed to explore their relationship a bit more.
Chris and Bri were up next, singing “Beyond” by Leon Bridges. The performance gave the judges chills. Mraz thought Bri looked like she was catering to the audience more than she was making a love connection, but JoJo and Jordan disagreed – they felt the chemistry.
Next, Bekah and Danny performed “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers. The judges had a few technical notes, and wondered if their messy harmonies said anything about their relationship. Rudi’s take? “They looked like they were [in the] hardcore friend zone.”
Savannah and Brandon hit the stage next… but the judges felt like something was off after they sang an acoustic version of Cheap Trick’s “I Want You To Want Me.” Julia felt “validated” by the judges’ critiques, since she’d been pining for Brandon.
Then, Julia and Sheridan hit the stage to perform Backstreet Boys’ “As Long As You Love Me.” The judges loved it, especially Jordan who stood up in the middle of the song to wave his hands around.
Natascha and Ryan were next with a passionate rendition of “Stay” by Rihanna, and it really impressed the judges. The passion was totally there, although Mraz noted he thought Natascha’s career could survive without Ryan.
Jamie was really nervous to hit the stage and “disappoint” Trevor, but their version of “I Could Use A Love Song” by Maren Morris’ got tons of praise form the judges, who applauded her “vulnerability” on stage.
Then it was time for the updated rose ceremony. This time, Harrison handed out the roses and eliminations on behalf of the judges, rather than the contestants. Unsurprisingly, Danny and Bekah were the ones sent home.
