This past weekend, I was trying to figure out dinner. Looking through our fridge and freezer. I can across some brats. It’s something we had not had since the snow started falling. So I thought why not people boil them, make them in the slow cooker.
When all was said and done, I was so mad at myself for not making them sooner. My all time favorite way to eat brats will always be on the grill. However, this comes in a close second. They were so juicy and flavorful. So if you are in need of a quick dinner idea, here is how to make the brats with your instant pot!
What You Need:
1 package of 7-8 Brats. (thawed or fresh)
2 Tablespoons of Butter
1 can or Bottle of Beer
Instant Pot Trivet
Turn Instant Pot to Saute. Put the butter in, and let it sizzle a little. Then put in the brats. Let them brown on each side. About 2-4 minutes per side. Take the brats out and put the trivet in. Put the brats back in and then pour the can or bottle of beer in. I used Coors Light, but you can put in what ever you like in. Or you can also use Chicken Broth. Next turn the Instant Pot to Manual Pressure for 8 minutes. Put the lid on and make sure the steam valve is closed. One the 8 minutes is up, do a natural release for 10 minutes.
Then open up the valve, place on bun and enjoy.
Now you can cook more than 1 package. Just saute the brats 1 package at a time. Then stack them up once you have the trivet in.
